The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is nationally recognized for excellence in clinical care and has made a perennial appearance on U.S. News and World Report’s list of top programs since 1998. In 2013-2014, the division was ranked as “high performing” (among the top 25% in its specialty) in the U.S. News and World Report’s “Best Hospitals” guide.

The division fosters an interdisciplinary approach to patient care and offers integrated services for a complete range of digestive disorders. The latest equipment and procedures are utilized for highly technical diagnosis and treatment of complex gastrointestinal, hepatic, and pancreatobiliary disorders. Patients have access to novel therapies, such as fecal tissue transplant, and to experimental drugs through the division’s extensive clinical trials program.

The division continues to broaden its clinical services and expand its basic science program, while remaining deeply committed to its educational mission. Faculty value highly their roles as teachers, mentors and preceptors.
