FACULTY RECRUITMENT, RECOGNITION AND SERVICE: Asthma, Allergy & Immunology
Scott Commins was appointed chair of the Anaphylaxis and Drug Allergy Committee of the American College of Asthma, Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Commins also received a Young Physician-Scientist award (one of 25) from the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
Thomas Platts-Mills and Larry Borish were both included in the “2013 Best Doctors in America” list.
Judith Woodfolk serves as a reviewer for the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIH) and the French National Research Agency. She is currently chair of the Genetics Molecular Biology and Epidemiology Committee of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and is co-chair of the UVA School of Medicine’s Research Advisory Committee.The staff in Dr. Woodfolk’s lab received the following awards for 2012 and 2013:
