The 40 faculty members of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine are nationally recognized for excellence in clinical care, research and teaching. Its physicians provide expert, comprehensive care for patients with all forms of cardiovascular disease.

Cardiovascular care is provided through the Heart Center, which serves more than 5,000 inpatients and 43,000 outpatients each year. The program emphasizes a multidisciplinary, collaborative approach that brings together specialists from cardiovascular medicine, pediatric cardiology, thoracic and vascular surgery, and interventional radiology to optimize care for individual patients.

The division’s 31 clinical faculty provide patient care and graduate medical education in a range of disciplines, including general cardiovascular disease and prevention, cardiac imaging, electrophysiology, diagnostic and interventional cardiac catherization, valvular heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, heart failure, congenital heart disease, and vascular-related diseases. Its research faculty and professional research staff have over 100 active grants, with aggregate funding totaling $16 million. The division excels in patient-focused research.
