During 2012-2013, we were pleased to welcome two new faculty members as assistant professors of medicine:

• Numaan Malik, MD, who completed a fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic and joined the division in July 2012
• H. Charles Malpass III, MD, who previously had been a fellow with the division, and joined the faculty in July 2013

• Dr. Mehrad was recently elected to the American Society of Clinical Investigation. The American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI), established in 1908, is one of the nation’s oldest and most respected medical honor societies. The ASCI supports the research into basic mechanisms and/or treatment of human diseases, and to the education of future generations of physician-scientists.
