The Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism is a top-tier academic program with a nationally respected fellowship training program and internationally recognized clinical and scientific expertise. U.S. News and World Report consistently ranks the division among the top 50 endocrinology programs in the country.

As the incidence of diabetes and obesity continues to rise in the U.S., the division is working hard to ensure it meets the needs, and exceeds the expectations, of the patients it serves. The division’s quality initiatives focus largely on proactive management of these chronic diseases, with a goal of leading the UVA Health System in quality metrics.
