On December 20, 2014, the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism hosted a celebration in honor of Robert Carey, MD, whose official retirement date was December 24th. Dr. Carey served as chief of the division for eight years before being appointed dean of UVA School of Medicine. Guests at the retirement celebration included University of Virginia President Teresa Sullivan, Executive Vice President for Health Affairs Richard Shannon and former Chief Operating Officer Leonard Sandridge.
