A Word of Thanks

Thanks to Dr. Plews-Ogan from the Incoming Chief

All of us in the Division of General Medicine, Geriatrics and Palliative Care offer our gratitude to Peggy Plews-Ogan for her 12 years of leadership. The division has grown tremendously under her direction, expanding from 27 to 63 faculty members, and adding a new hospital medicine section which is now highly active throughout the health center. During Peggy’s tenure she also enlarged the educational footprint of the division, which provides a large proportion of teaching for medical students and Internal Medicine residents. While leading the GMGPC through a period of enormous change and growth, she continued to pursue her own scholarly and groundbreaking work in appreciative inquiry, patient safety and wisdom in medicine. Above all, she has exemplified what it means to be a “servant leader,” always focused on values-based leadership and uncompromised excellence, and always with a warm-hearted touch.
