Quality Improvement Measures

Healthcare-acquired infections (HAIs):
  • 31% decrease in catheter-associated urinary track infections (UTIs) [from 4.48 per 1000 catheter days to 3.1 per 1000 catheter days in FY14]
  • 35% decrease in catheter-associated bloodstream infections (BSI) [from 2.1 per 1000 catheter days in FY13 to 1.37 per 1000 catheter days in FY14]
Sepsis outcomes:
  • 86% of patients received antibiotics within one hour of sepsis diagnosis not present on admission—nearly double the proportion (45%) for FY2013.
Mortality outcomes:
  • FY 2011: 17%
  • FY 2012: 16%
  • FY 2013: 18%
  • FY 2014: 11%
