FACULTY RECRUITMENT, RECOGNITION & SERVICE: Hematology & Oncology

Michael E. Williams, MD, ScM, was appointed division chief in July 2013. Eleven division faculty members were included on the list of “Best Doctors in America”: Christiana Brenin, Emanuel Cirenza, John Densmore, Patrick Dillon, Michael Douvas, Paula Fracasso, William Grosh, Tamila Kindwall-Keller, Gail Macik, Geoffrey Weiss, and Michael E. Williams. Michael Douvas received a 2014 Outstanding Educator Award from the Department of Medicine, as well as the 2014 Inpatient Attending of the Year award from the Internal Medicine residents; he also received a promotion to associate professor in 2014.

The Division welcomed a number of new faculty members in FY 2014, listed below (institutions from which they were recruited and their areas of speciality are indicated in parentheses):
