• Faculty Profile: Tim Kyin, MD

Tim Kyin, MD, was recruited during FY 2015 and joined the division as an assistant professor of medicine in July 2015. Dr. Kyin completed his residency in internal medicine at Tufts University, followed by a fellowship in allergy at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. He subsequently served on the faculty there.

Dr. Kyin joins the clinical team delivering care at UVA Medical Park Northridge in Charlottesville and at UVA Culpeper Hospital.

Faculty Highlights:

Larry Borish, MD, was awarded a new one-year grant from the National Institutes of Health that starts in October 2015, titled “Clinical immune response to rhinovirus challenge in human asthmatics.”

Peter Heymann, MD, who has a joint faculty appointment in Allergy and Pediatrics, received a lifetime achievement from the Department of Pediatrics. He was also a speaker at two international meetings: the World Allergy Organization International Scientific Conference (Rio de Janeiro, December 2014) and the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology conference (Barcelona, Spain, June 2015).

Judith Woodfolk, MD, PhD, is serving as the primary investigator on a one-year collaborative research grant awarded by the UVA School of Medicine, titled “High-dimensional Immune Profiling of Diverse Inflammatory Diseases Using Mass Cytometry.” Collaborators  are Loren Erickson (Microbiology), Scott Commins, MD (Allergy) and Coleen McNamara, MD (Cardiovascular Medicine).
